Research
Research at the BMLS emphasizes the analysis of macromolecular complexes at all levels, from the molecule to the organism. A broad range of methods is used to achieve this goal, varying from cell and molecular biology to structural biology and computational biology.
The BMLS is located at the highly collaborative, international, competitive environment of the Campus Riedberg, in close vicinity to the natural sciences faculties of the Goethe-University and the Max Planck Institutes for Biophysics and Brain Research. It fosters top quality, interdisciplinary research by promoting a vibrant ambience consisting of young independent research groups with access to outstanding graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. The research is strengthened by excellent in house facilities, which are managed by the BMLS groups and are accessible to internal and external users.
